What began as a simple WhatsApp conversation quickly turned into something neither of us could ignore. After a few persistent (and hopeful) attempts, Mackyla finally agreed to go on a date—and that decision changed everything.
We met in Potchefstroom on 12 February, where our first date consisted of Panarottis in town. Simple, relaxed, and unexpectedly perfect—it turned out to be the best Valentine’s Day either of us had experienced.
As the weeks passed, it became clear that this was more than just a great first date. On 7 April 2025, Karl officially asked Mackyla to be his girlfriend, and from there our story continued to grow with ease, laughter, and shared adventures.
On 19 July, that journey reached a new milestone when we got engaged—marking the start of the next chapter we are so excited to share together.
What We Love Doing Together
Shopping (often longer than planned), travelling and exploring new places, date nights—whether out or at home—and fishing… when the mood allows.
Our Little Family
Our two dogs, Alpha and Cooper, are truly our pride and joy. Karl was initially very hesitant about getting a second dog, but after much persuasion, Cooper joined the family—and there was no looking back. The two are inseparable, spending their days playing together and causing just enough chaos. They are, however, completely heartbroken whenever Mackyla has to return to her apartment, proving that they are just as emotionally invested in this love story as we are.
